Nordstrom Semi-Annual Sale Picks Fall 2018

Hey guys! Wanted to go ahead and post this now because the sale opens up to the public at 2am!!! Woooooo!

What a week! I have been working non-stop and its seriously one of the biggest times of the year for sales. YIKES! *Cue the exhaustion* Between Prime Day this week on Amazon, the Nordstrom Semi-Annual Sale, and everyone else trying to keep up with them; if you need anything, now is the time to buy! Back to school is coming up ladies and wedding season is about to be in full force again as the weather begins to cool off (wipes sweat from brow and praises God).

I was planning on taking the first Nordstrom Semi- Annual Sale to watch how other bloggers performed with the giveaways, online and in-store shopping, and early access and going full force with the semi-annual sale for spring (since I am only about 3 weeks into blogging) but there is just wayyyy too much great stuff to not at least do a round up of my favorite items!

For those of you new to the sale (like myself) it is like no other semi-annual sale at other stores where all of the clearance items are just reduced further. This happens at Nordstrom as well but they ALSO have all of their new styles on sale! Meaning all of the best 2018 fall jackets and other styles will go back to normal price after the sale and some are knocked down in price over $100 RIGHT NOW! It is crazy and I was so blown away!

Here is a collection of my favorite items and what I consider the best buys!
The sale is open to the public July 20th- August 5th

Xx with love from the girl who is buying her heart out

Red, White, and Blue all summer long

Hey guys! I've been a little off on posting trying to figure out the best times to post, when to work on things between modeling, etc. and definitely didn't forget this 4th of July outfit just wanted to see the best way to go about posting it ;)
What I wanted to talk about today was something a little more serious. As I went around celebrating Independence Day a couple of weeks ago now, I was having a great time and enjoying the holiday. Unfortunately, what I heard and saw was anything but cheerful from many people. There were posts and mean sayings from those I follow referring to how much they hated their country and honestly it hurt my heart. Everyone is very much entitled to their own opinion, but I think we are all so very very blessed to be here today and enjoy the freedoms that America offers. Those of you who have been following me for a while know I went abroad for about 6 months last year living among locals and other foreigners. During this time, I really began to appreciate these states so much more.
When people say they hate America now, I know they mean they hate the politics right now, I completely understand to the fullest extent. Things are scary! We see every day something else that makes us question our loyalty. One day its children being pulled from their parents, another its the threat of war. However, this is victim blaming our country.
America's history is a complete history of crimes against humanity. Slavery. Racism. Genocidal assaults on Native Americans. Sexism. Homophobia. The list goes on and on.
But what makes America an envy of the rest of the world is our willingness to try to fix things and make them better (paraphrased from Martin Luther King), encompassing everyone in "We the People."
Things might look very bad right now; in the media, in our politics, and when we look at our leaders; but progress was made in much darker times than today. Progress is made by people who LOVED America enough to fight injustice.
In America, we still have the power to fight back. We have the power to protest, to demand change, and to vote. These freedoms are always something to love and to never turn your back on.
Lets not lose faith in progress, lets band together to work towards it!

In honor of this longer and slightly political post I wanted to share my 4th outfit with everyone! Its a little after just to show its not just one day we need to be celebrating and doing better by our country.
The entire outfit is from PacSun (which reposted the photo, eeeek so exciting) with their entire line out right now of red and navy right next to their Tommy Hilfiger line #swoon
xx with love as always!

Summer Fashion Trend: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

When thinking of fashion in the past most are known to embrace the saying, “when in doubt, wear black!” That has never been farther from the reality this summer. In a “rare moment of optimism” says Harpers Bazaar, designers are embracing all the colors of the rainbow- all together- all at once!
*me a bright and colorful person cheering in the background* Because seriously why pick one color when you can have the whole rainbow??? This summer’s fashion trend for 2018 is bright and colorful and downright cheerful! Nothing shows positivity quite like wearing the rainbow and the fact that it has been chosen as the symbol of the LGBTQ movement (and pride month in June killed it) only proves its symbol of love and inclusion in the fashion industry and an outward sign to the world. Needless to say I am buying everything rainbow all summer and hoping it gives everyone a smile!

Its true when you are wearing something bright and colorful you naturally just smile more and y’all I saw this dress at Vestique and immediately started glowing! It is the comfiest, most lightweight, and beautiful summer maxi you could find and will be an instant sell out! It comes down in a deep v in the front and an even deeper one in the back. ALSO MAJOR POINT: IT HAS POCKETS!!! Pair it with some flat sandals and literally any color earring or purse (oh the joy of rainbow) and head out to brunch or a fun event! You will most certainly light up any room you walk into!

Shop my look from the scroll bar below plus a few more rainbow go-to’s for the summer! Heres to hoping this trend never leaves us!

True Friends Will Be There For You When Needed

I'm writing this post so inspired right now by the love that has been outpouring from my friends recently. I'll be honest with you guys, I have had a REALLY tough week. I won't get too deep into personal things but every girl reading this knows that feeling of just needing their girlfriends and to have a girls day/night. Whether its something not so pleasant thats brought you together like heartache, being scared about the future, or (just as heartbreaking) your favorite character on a show you are binge watching leaving the show OR, on the brighter end, you got a promotion at work, you're engaged or dating someone new, and/or the "girlfriend, we've been tagging each other in memes for weeks but I haven't seen you, lets catch up!" GIRL TIME IS SERIOUSLY SO SO IMPORTANT! And let me tell you, mine seriously came through this week! On Wednesday, we went to Build-A-Bear, went on quite a bit of a shopping spree, ate at Panda Express (which is where the post title came from- it was written on the inside of a fortune cookie, so freaking perfect), and then purchased ourselves a couple of bottles of wine to top the day off! I needed them and they dropped everything just to be there for me; I could not ask for more amazing people in my life! So in honor of that...I am attaching a list of relatively cheap/ girls night wines after asking for everyones recommendations via my Instagram stories! Be sure to check it out at the bottom of this post for all of your summery fun nights with your besties!

For my outfit, I really just wanted to show off something that you could wear to a cute wine bar on a Saturday night with your girlfriends! I normally drink wine in my PJs while also watching a rom-com buttttt... for those nights you want to get out this look is so cute and super simple! I love a bright top during the summer with an open back (Vestique also sells a fantastic pair of stickies so you can wear tops like this!) and a white skirt always shows off your tan really well and goes with literally anything! Links aren't clickable yet unfortunately but copy and paste them into your browser to shop my look!
